It is always exciting to see the first of the wildflowers emerging:

Early Nancy (Wurmbea dioica) - always one of the first Spring flowers.

Early Nancy (Wurmbea dioica) is always one of the first wildflowers. Tradition in our family is the first person to spot one wins a kiss …

Twiggy Guinea-flower (Hibbertia virgata)

Twiggy Guinea-flower (Hibbertia virgata) pops with bright yellow blooms.

Small-leaf Swainson Pea (Swainsona microphylla)

Small-leaf Swainson Pea (Swainsona microphylla) is the first of the purple pea flowers.

One of the best things about winter on Raakajlim is the awesome display of Inland Pigface (Sarcozona praecox).

This succulent has little pink flowers which sit inside two longer leaf lobes. It normally has green leaves but they color up to a reddy-purple in winter. It is listed as endangered in Victoria but is pretty widespread in our place!
