Gazania - the multicolour menace
It’s that time of year when Gazanias start flowering and we notice them creeping their way into bushland areas. These plants may be colourful but they are a real menace. It frustrates me that they are not listed as a weed in Victoria so they can still be sold in nurseries. Luckily, I’m not the only one concerned.
Hunting season for Gazanias, the pretty (awful) weed
Gazania are evil weeds with wind-dispersed seeds. It would be really helpful if nurseries stopped selling this weed!
Fixed the flooded fence

Watering revegetation
In the Mallee, it is essential to water the trees and shrubs we plant, to make sure the revegetation survives the tough first summer. This is Phil's clever watering set-up to make it just a little easier.
Revegetation in dry times - Cocoon planters
We are trialing cocoon planters to increase the survival and growth rate of our tube-stock for revegetation. January update.
Scalping the soil to restore grasslands
Our trial of scalping the soil to restore a semi-arid grassland.
Native Pine for revegetation
August is the time to sow seed of native Pine (Callitris gracilis) so the tubestock will be ready to plant out in Autumn.
Direct seeding for revegetation
This is our home made direct seeding machine for revegetation of native plants.
Spraying weeds - reducing chemicals
A clever addition to the spray cart is a foam marker to reduce time and use of herbicides.
