What you can do

You can help us unravel the causes and effects of the Mallee Looper outbreak!

Assist with monitoring the Hattah sentinel sites

We will be monitoring five sites in and near Hattah Kulkyne National Park. We will be mapping and monitoring trees, trapping moths and searching for them at night, counting caterpillars both day and night, and had-rearing caterpillars in cages.

Let us know if you would like to join us to learn more about any of these techniques!

Host a moth trap

We will be trapping moths throughout November around Hattah. It would be great to also collect data from other parts of the Victorian Mallee. We are particularly interested if you are close to bushland near Werrimull, Red Cliffs, Annuello, Patchewollock or Murrayville.

We are giving away a free moth trap if you are able to help (like the ones described here).

Look out for caterpillars and damage caused by the Mallee Looper (January onwards)
